Fractious Learning has a list of smart watch options for different age groups.
When a technology product is available in so many variations to appeal to different life stages, it’s pretty clear that it has significant traction. It’s interesting to see the different user experiences developed for each product. There seems to be lots of variety on how to interact with content on such a small screen.
One thing is consistent: there are no web browsers for smart watches, because it makes little sense for the user experience. It’s hard to imagine a use case that calls for a web browser on such a small screen. A smartphone is a comfortable device to read a web article, play a game, write an email or list, etc. You can produce and consume a piece of content in a matter of minutes or seconds. A smart watch is good for information read at a glance, just like a dedicated timepiece watch. Content read in just a few seconds is the “watch” experience.
